The Department of Computer Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE) organized the C-Codes Council Inauguration, along with an insightful talk titled “The Purpose of Technology – Creating an Impact in the Age of AI”, on 29th August 2026.
The session was conducted by Mr. Tejas Pathak, System Architect,Siemens who shared his valuable knowledge and industry experience on the evolving role of technology and the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence. He encouraged students to look beyond technology as merely a tool and understand how it can be purposefully used to create meaningful and positive impact in society.
The programme commenced with the inaugural address by the Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar, followed by an address by Fr. Leo. The Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Dr. Gaurang Patkar, also addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of staying updated with emerging technologies and developing the skills required to adapt to the rapidly changing technological landscape.
A significant part of the programme was the inauguration of the newly formed C-Codes Council. The newly appointed council members took the C-Codes Council Oath, which was read out by Prof. Merwyn D’Souza. The oath-taking ceremony marked the beginning of the council's responsibilities and its commitment towards actively contributing to the department and organizing meaningful technical and co-curricular activities.
Mr. Tejas Pathak’s interaction with the students was engaging and inspiring. He shared valuable insights into the changing technological landscape and motivated students to think innovatively, develop a problem-solving mindset, and use technology responsibly. His inspiring words encouraged students to explore the possibilities of AI and consider how their technological knowledge can be used to create a meaningful impact.
