The Joint Installation Ceremony of the Civil Engineering Student Association (CESA) and the
Computer Engineering Council of Students (C-CODES) for the academic year 2026–2027 was
held on 29 August 2026 at Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa. The annual
ceremony marked the formal commencement of a new year of student-led initiatives aimed at
fostering academic growth, professional development, leadership, and social responsibility. The
councils are expected to organize a wide range of activities, including state and out-of-state field
visits, expert lectures, technology-oriented sessions and videos, competitions, and socially
impactful projects.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome by the host, Ms. Ilysa, who introduced the
distinguished guests and dignitaries, including Mr. Tejas Pathak, System Architect;
Administrator Fr. Leo Pereira; Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar; Head of the Department of Civil
Engineering, Dr. Shwetha Prasanna; Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, Dr.
Gaurang Patkar; and faculty coordinators Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar, Prof. Vanessa Fernandes, and
Prof. Merwyn D’Souza. The traditional lighting of the lamp formally marked the beginning of
the ceremony.
The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Gaurang Patkar, who highlighted the importance of
student participation and leadership in enhancing the overall educational experience. This was
followed by an address by Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar, who appreciated the dedication and
contributions of the outgoing CESA and C-CODES councils. She encouraged students to remain updated
with emerging technologies, pursue skill-based learning, and equip themselves to meet
the evolving demands of the industry.
Administrator Fr. Leo Pereira shared thought-provoking insights on leadership and responsibility.
He reminded the students that leadership is not about being ahead of others, but about working
together as a team towards shared goals.
The outgoing council members were then felicitated in recognition of their commitment, service, and contributions throughout their tenure. The outgoing members included Chairperson Ms. Priya Maria Vales, Secretary Ms. Yukti Melindra Naik, Treasurer Mr. Tabrez Jamal Khan, and Executive Members Smita Sunil Naik, Vysel Filoska Costa, Sahil Murgod, Wayne Fernandes, and Joshelle Santimano.
The second half of the ceremony focused on the induction of the newly elected CESA Council for 2026–2027. The new council comprises Chairman Yuvraj Dalvi, Secretary Wayne Fernandes, Treasurer Soham Naik, and Executive Members Astrida Cardozo, Conisha DeMello, Clementina Almeida, and Raguraj Dessai. Their installation symbolized the beginning of a new chapter of student leadership and responsibility.
The special guest, Mr. Tejas Pathak, addressed the gathering and shared valuable perspectives on effective leadership. He emphasized the role of student councils in fostering collaboration and acting as a bridge between different departments. His address encouraged the newly appointed council members to take initiative, work collaboratively, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the student community.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Shwetha Prasanna, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, outgoing council, newly elected members, students, and everyone involved in making the event a success.
The Joint Installation Ceremony was more than a formal transition of leadership; it served as an inspiring beginning for the newly elected council. It reinforced the values of teamwork, responsibility, leadership, and continuous learning, encouraging students to strive for excellence in both their academic pursuits and future professional endeavors.
