Goa Shipyard Limited signs MOU with Don Bosco College of Engineering

Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE), Fatorda, on 14 May 2026. The MoU signing ceremony was held at GSL’s shipbuilding facility in Vasco da Gama and represents a significant milestone in strengthening industry–academia collaboration.

GSL is one of the most prominent Companies in the Shipbuilding sector in India functioning under the administrative control of Ministry of Defence, Govt. of India. It has designed, built and commissioned a wide range of sophisticated vessels for varied applications in the defence and commercial sectors with special expertise in building modern patrol vessels of Steel and Aluminium hull structure. GSL offers a wide spectrum of services to its valued customers who include: Designing and building of variety of vessels, Repair and modernization of vessels technology transfer

The MoU was formally signed by S. S. Kamble, HOD (HR&A) on behalf of GSL, and Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal, DBCE, in the presence of other officials, and, DBCE. The DBCE team was represented by Dr. Suraj Marathe, Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Ajit Salunke, MoU Coordinator, and Prof. Sanjil Naik, Internship Coordinator.

The MoU focuses on internship and industrial exposure visits, enhancing academic and research opportunities for students and faculty, facilitating joint research projects and initiatives., knowledge sharing and skill development of the students, hereby establishing a strong foundation for a long-term collaboration aimed at enhancing quality technical education.
