Inaugural Function of the Dr. Kashinath Jalmi Chair in Konkani Tribal Studies at Goa University

The students of Don Bosco College of Engineering on 18 August 2026 visited the Inaugural Function of the Dr. Kashinath Jalmi Chair in Konkani Tribal Studies at Goa University, Taleigao. This event was supported by The Directorate of Art and Culture, Government of Goa. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Ramesh Tawadkar, (Hon’ble Minister of Art and Culture, Govt. of Goa.), the inaugural was presided over by Prof. Harilal B. Menon, the Vice- Chancellor of Goa University. The distinguished guest was Prof Sunder Dhuri, Registrar, Goa University along with the Director of D-VRPP Goa University, Dr Prakash Pariekar. The inaugural also had an inaugural lecture by Prof. Soumendra Mohan Patnaik of New Delhi on “Identity Culture and Aspirations: Reflections on Indian Tribes”. The students were accompanied by Ms. Jesselyn Fernandes (Assistant Professor, Science and Humanities Department, DBCE)
