The Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, organised a one-day R&D Cell Coordinators' Orientation Programme 2026 on 26 June 2026 at the Multipurpose Hall, Directorate of Art and Culture, Patto, Panaji, Goa. The programme was conceptualised to strengthen the research and innovation ecosystem in Higher Education Institutions by equipping R&D Cell Coordinators with the knowledge, tools, and strategies required to promote research excellence, institutional collaboration, innovation, and access to research funding opportunities and various Government schemes.
The orientation programme brought together eminent academicians, experts, and resource persons who shared valuable insights on strengthening research culture within higher education institutions. The technical sessions focused on the following themes:
Transforming Colleges into Research-Driven Institutions: The Role of R&D Cell Leadership
Building Research Networks, Industry Partnerships, and Innovation Ecosystems
Roles, Responsibilities, and Annual Action Plan of R&D Cell Coordinators
A significant highlight of the programme was the Poster Presentation on “Good Practices and Achievements of R&D Cells – AY 2025–26.” The poster presentation provided an opportunity for institutions across Goa to showcase initiatives, activities, and accomplishments in which their R&D Cells had played a direct role in planning, facilitating, coordinating, or implementing research and innovation-related activities.
The Don Bosco College of Engineering, R&D Cell achieved a notable distinction as its poster was selected for presentation from among submissions received from numerous colleges across the state of Goa. Representing the institution, Dr. Shwetha Prasanna, R&D Cell chairperson, presented the poster highlighting the Good Practices and Achievements of the R&D Cell during the academic year 2025–26.
The presentation showcased the college's significant contributions towards fostering a vibrant research culture through research initiatives, collaborative activities, innovation-driven practices, and capacity-building efforts.
