Session 5: Features and Usage of IS Codes

Ms. Genevieve Fernandes, conducted a workshop on the Features and Usage of IS Codes for Civil Engineering students. The session provided students with an overview of the importance of Indian Standards (IS) Codes in civil engineering practices. She explained the relevant codes used for structural design, construction practices, materials, and quality control.

Session 6: Alumni Talk

The Civil Engineering Department organized an Alumni Talk for the First year Civil Engineering students with the objective of providing valuable insights into career opportunities, industry expectations, and professional growth in the field of Civil Engineering. The session was delivered by Mr. Praveen Maurya, Director, Luxescape Realty, who shared his professional experiences and valuable insights into the civil engineering industry. Mr. Praveen also spoke about his projects that he had completed successfully over the years. The second speaker Mr. Tanishq Kulkani also delivered a small session which provided valuable insights into industry expectations, emerging trends, career opportunities, and pathways for professional growth in the field of Civil Engineering. The event was coordinated by Ms. Starina Dias, Faculty Civil Engineering Department.

Session 7: Technical papers

Dr. Nitendra Palankar, introduced students to the concept of technical papers and their importance in engineering education and professional practice. Students were familiarized with the basic structure of a technical paper, including the title, abstract, introduction, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, references and keywords.

Session 8: Job opportunity Entrepreneurship and Higher Studies

A session on Job opportunity Entrepreneurship and Higher Studies was conducted for the civil Engg. Students by Mr. Kaushik Pai Fondekar. The session provided students with valuable sights into the diverse career pathways available after completing their Civil Engineering degree.
