IIC-DBCE Environmental Day Talk on Waste Management

On August 29, 2024, the Institute Innovation Council of DBCE hosted an insightful talk on “Waste Management Issues and Solutions” in observance of Environment Day. The session, tailored for third-year Mechanical students, was delivered by Mr. Satyesh Kakodkar, Assistant Professor, and an expert in waste management.

Mr. Kakodkar provided a comprehensive overview of the waste generated across various talukas in Goa, highlighting both the volume and types of waste produced. He emphasized the critical role of the 6R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Recover, Replant, and Respect) in effective waste management strategies.

The talk also covered practical methods for reducing waste production and improving waste handling processes. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Shabaz Khan, acknowledging the speaker’s valuable insights and the attendees’ participation.
