Session on Introduction to Robotics for students of Pope John Paul School Quepem by MecHEADS
MecHEADS, a student’s club of Mechanical Engineering Student’s Hub conducted a Session on “Introduction to Robotics’ for student’s of Pope John Paul School Quepem on 5th August 2017. The objective of this club is to undertake community outreach programs in rural areas and assist the department in training students in the areas like Robotics, Automation, Computer Aided Drafting and Modeling etc. The resource persons were Mr. Mohammad Faraz Khan and Mr. Yatish Danageri, students from third year Mechanical Engineering. The students were mentored by Prof. Tanay Rege and Prof. Ishan Kossambe.
The session mainly focused on introducing school children to the field of robotics and automation. The students got a glimpse of various types of robots and their applications. Mr. Faraz and Mr. Yatish familiarized them with different components required to build robots. Live demonstration of bots like line follower, obstacle detection & accelerometer gycro control was given.
Fr. Dominic Savio, Headmaster congratulated the team for taking initiative for organizing the session. Prof. Tanay Rege addressed the students and motivated them to take up this field.
