Prof. Ajit Salunke delivers talk on 3 D Printing in the Pharmacuetical Industry at Sanofi Synthelabo (India) Pvt. Ltd.
Prof. Ajit Salunke, HOD- Mechanical Dept. delivered a talk on “3 D Printing in the Pharmacuetical Industry” at Sanofi Synthelabo (India) Pvt. Ltd. , Verna on 24th August 2019. It was attended by around 52 R & D professionals & engineers.
Prof. Salunke gave a brief overview of 3 D printing, it’s scope & potential in pharma industry, ongoing research in 3 D printing of Oral Dosage Forms, 3 D bioprinting of tissues & organs and reverse engineering. He showed videos of research work carried out at St. John’s University,USA, TNO Netherlands, UCL School of Pharmacy, London and the 1st 3 D printed commercially available drug.
Prof. Gaurish Samant demonstrated the patterns of tablet, capsule & blister pack which were 3 D printed in Don Bosco College of Engineering lab. Later on, discussions was held with the Innovation team of Sanofi to explore the possibilities of joint research in the field.
