Report on IIC E-Sessions
Due to the difficulty faced by IIC-Institutes to complete the IIC calendar activities for Quarter 3(Q3) and Quarter 4(Q4) for the IIC calendar year 2019-20, IIC-MIC organised 17 e-sessions as e-activities on various themes of Innovation, IPR, Entrepreneurship and Start-up which would replace the physical activities of Q3 and Q4, from April 28 – May 22, 2020.
The faculty of Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering , Don Bosco College of Engineering-Fatorda attended e-sessions on National Innovation and Start-up Policy for students and Faculty 2019- A Guiding Framework for HEIs for Implementation, Role and Importance of Pre-Incubators, Incubators and Accelerators in HEIs – Harnessing Innovation and Entrepreneurial Potential of Students and Faculties at Early Stage, Hangout with emerging Innovator & Entrepreneurs Supported through MIC & AICTE, Role of network enablers in driving I & E HEI’s-A case of TIE-India, Entrepreneurship, Business Idea and Business model canvas to name a few.
These e-sessions covered various topics related to innovation and start-up policies strategies and governance for promoting entrepreneurship such as norms for students and faculty driven start-ups, Incubation and pre- incubation support, Incentives and rewards for students and faculty pursuing innovation and start-ups, IP ownership and equity / revenue sharing mechanisms. The difference between pre-incubation, incubation and acceleration, Mentoring and networking for the incubator, Staff and funding for the incubator, Services and Collaboration Opportunities with HEIs to Drive I&E Ecosystem, Life of a Start-up Founder and Myths and Hometake Messages etc.
Overall the e-session was very informative and well received by the faculty.
