WEBINAR ON “THE 3W’S OF RESEARCH “
C-CODES in association with the Department of Computer Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering, organised a webinar on “The 3w’s of Research” conducted by Professor Norman Dias from Department of Computer Engineering on July 2, 2021. The webinar was held for the T.E and BE computer students via Google Meet under the guidance of Prof. Merwyn D’Souza and Prof. Siya Naik. Around 49 students attended the webinar.
The session started off with an elaborate explanation on the 3Ws of research, that is: What, Where and Why. Different types of research papers were introduced like short communication, review papers etc. Scopus, Web Science group and how they function were also discussed. A briefing was also given about the different categories of journals in the web of science core group such as: SCIE, SSCI, AHCI and ESCI and how to alert one from cloned/ fake journals. Types of plagiarism were explained along with how to use Mandeley tool for research paper.
Prof. Norman concluded by asking students “To dream about your aims, be very much dedicated and work hard to achieve it”.
The session was followed by a Q&A session. Prof. Siya thanked the speaker for his valuable time and for sharing his knowledge and tips about Research.
