Tech Talks: Edging Towards a Connected Future

On September 9, 2022, the Department of Computer Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE) in association with the Institution Industry Cell (IIC) organized a knowledge sharing session called Tech Talks: Edging Towards a Connected Future.

This program was organized with the intention of sharing ideas with technology leaders. This allows students to have a brief insight into the life of a technocrat.

The speaker for the program was Mr. Kapil Nair, Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Conexao Technology Solutions, Panjim. His topic was based on “What one can do while in college to be industry ready”. Mr. Kapil Nair explained the IT trends in today’s industry. He told students that it is very important to pick a favorite programming language and get acquainted with it. He went on to reveal statistics on the popular programming languages used in the industry. Mr. Nair encouraged students to create a GitHub account and learn how to contribute to projects. He mentioned the need to read technical magazines and participate in hackathons and competitions. He also told students that it’s important to network with their seniors / juniors   and improve on their communication skills.

The session ended with a Q & A round.
