ThinkTech 2k22- a National Level Project Idea competition was organized by the Final Year Project Quality Assurance Committee, Department of Electronics & Computer Science Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering, in association with Don Bosco Electronics and Telecommunication Society (DBEATS). This competition was organised with an objective to encourage students to exhibit their innovative ideas and showcase their technical skills not just in the state of Goa but all over the nation. The esteemed jury for the competition were Mr. Yadnesh Sanzgiri – Subject Matter Expert (Industry 4.0 solutions), Antares Vision India Pvt Ltd. And Mr. Rohan Prabhu – Klenzaids Contamination Controls, Senior Automation Engineer
ThinkTech -2k22 commenced in the month of September with the submissions of abstract proposals which went on till October 10, 2022. It received an overwhelming response of more than 50 entries. Some of the themes floated were Intelligent Systems, E- Learning, Energy Harvesting, Urbanization and Rural Development, Healthcare, Virtual Communities, Environmental Monitoring, Disaster Management and e- Business Technologies. Some of the colleges that participated were The Northcap University- Gurugram -Haryana, Ramaiah Institute of Technology- Bengaluru, Sharad Institute Of Technology College of Engineering- Kolhapur, P.V.P.I.T. Budhgaon – Sangli, A J Institute Of Engineering and Technology- Mangalore, Vels Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies- Chennai, Fr. C. Rodrigues Institute Of Technology, Vashi- Navi Mumbai, Walchand Institute of Technology- Solapur, SRM Institute of Science and Technology- Chennai, Padre Conceição College Of Engineering – Verna, St.Xavier’s College- Mapusa, Shree Rayeshwar Institute of Engineering & Information Technology- Shiroda,- Goa, Parvatibai Chowgule College of Arts & Science- Margao, and Don Bosco Collge of Engg- Fatorda.
The final round of the competition and prize distribution was held on October 22, 2022. 15 groups were shortlisted to present their ideas in hybrid mode. The competition commenced at 11.00 a.m and was successfully held with the participants presenting their ideas online as well as offline. The event concluded with the prize distribution and valedictory function which was held at 4.30 p.m. The dignitaries present were, the judges for ThinkTech 2k22 – Mr. Yadnesh Sanzgiri and Mr. Rohan Prabhu, Rev Fr.Kinley D’cruz- Director,DBCE , Dr. Neena Panandikar – Principal-DBCE, Dr. Kala Nayak-Registrar and HOD of Science and Humanities Department-DBCE. The event was compered by Ms. Karen Mendes. The event commenced with the welcome address by Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz. In his address, Fr. Kinley D’cruz welcomed the guests and appreciated the efforts put in by the participants, coordinators and judges and motivated them. Later, Dr. Neena Panandikar addressed the gathering and appreciated the enthusiastic participation at ThinkTech 2k22. She said “Let not your ideas die off, let them possibly lead to exciting breakthroughs and even innovations.”
The Coordinator of ThinkTech 2k22, Prof. Anisha Cotta presented the report of ThinkTech 2k22 and acknowledged the support, motivation and guidance received to make the event a success. DBEATS coordinators Mrs. Michelle Araujo e Viegas and Mr. Deron Rodrigues introduced the judges to the audience. The Judges then shared their experience in judging the event and gave their valuable inputs to the participants. The winners were declared by the Head of Department and Convener of the event, Dr. Varsha Turkar.
The first place was bagged by Sahil Chitrapur, Keenan Cardozo from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Don Bosco College of Engineering for their project idea titled “Design and Development of Oxygen Concentrator”. Students from Padre Conceição College Of Engineering, Shubham Bhalerao, Sarvesh Lad, Ryan Fernandes, Silvio Boadita bagged the second place for their idea “Portable Power Bank for EV” The third place was bagged by Leym Ajay.S from Vels Institute of Science Technology and Advanced Studies, Chennai for the idea titled “Dermascopic Disease Prediction”
The Director and Principal presented mementos to the Judges as a token of appreciation. The event concluded with the Vote of thanks by the Coordinator of the event, Mrs. Melba D’Souza. The student coordinators were Ms. Aiyana Sacrafamilia and Mr. Shane Rodrigues. The faculty coordinators of the event were Mrs. Anisha Cotta and Mrs. Melba D’Souza.
