ANNUAL DAY 2024

Our college (DBCE) joyfully commemorated their Annual Day on March 7^th, 2024. Esteemed guests for the occasion included Mr. Anirudh Dempo, President of GSIA and Director of M/s Goa Paints & Allied Products Pvt. Ltd, who graciously served as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Sanjay Amonkar, Director General of Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry, honored as the guest of honor.

The morning commenced with a serene prayer dance, marking the auspicious beginning of the day, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. The gathering was welcomed by Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar and addressed by Director Fr Kinley Dcruz, setting the tone for the event.

Subsequently, Registrar Dr. Kala Nayak presented the academic progress report and announced the recipients of the W.X Mascarenhas Awards. Sports Officer Clifford Britto then delivered the sports report, with trophies awarded to deserving departments. The dignitaries also released the college magazine, “Beacon,” and the newsletter, “Connections.”

Rector Fr. Ralin Dsouza addressed the audience, delving into the importance of Socratic questioning and fostering a questioning mind. As the guest of honor took the stage, Mr. Sanjay Amonkar’s speech evoked nostalgia as an alumnus, emphasizing the bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical application. He highlighted the role of the our college in shaping his character and addressing contemporary industry challenges.

Following Mr. Amonkar’s speech, it was Mr. Anirudh Dempo’s turn to reminisce about his college days and share insights from his journey. He stressed the value of understanding concepts over rote learning and encouraged students to maintain a youthful spirit. Mr. Dempo applauded the students’ resilience amidst global challenges and underscored the importance of critical thinking and essential skills for success.

The event continued with captivating performances by students and faculty, including dances, a fashion show, and musical renditions in English and Konkani. Prof. Michelle Araujo delivered the Vote of Thanks, concluding with the announcement of the PROCYON Winners by Prof. Harison Cota with F.E Electronics and Computer Science class emerging as the winners.

It was an incredible celebration that marked the end of another memorable year at Don Bosco College of Engineering.
