Collaboration, Adaptability, Team Work Session for E-Cell students

  • formats

On 8th February 2025, the first Entrepreneurship Cell (E-Cell) lecture was organized by Prof. Amey Tilve. The session was conducted in the garden, providing an open and interactive learning environment. Prof. Janhavi Naik facilitated various engaging activities that focused on teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving—essential skills for entrepreneurship and professional growth.

To initiate the session, Professor Jhanvi Naik divided the participants into two groups. Each group was required to select a leader and create a slogan that represented their team spirit. This activity facilitated the development of several essential skills, including leadership, by assigning responsibility to an individual; decision-making, through the quick selection of a team slogan; and team identity and unity, fostering a sense of belonging and collaboration.

In another activity, participants were given printouts of different emojis. One member from each group had to pick an emoji and express the corresponding emotion without using words. This exercise enhanced non-verbal communication skills, a crucial aspect of business and networking; emotional intelligence, by helping participants understand and interpret emotions more effectively; and observational and interpretational skills, essential for customer interactions in entrepreneurship.

A third activity involved participants standing in a line, where the first person was given a word or object to convey. Without speaking, they had to write or draw it on the back of the next person, and the process continued until the final participant attempted to guess the original word or object. This exercise underscored the importance of clear communication in business and teamwork, highlighted the challenges in message transmission by demonstrating how information can change when passed through multiple people, and reinforced the significance of trust and focus in interpreting non-verbal cues accurately.

The session provided valuable insights into teamwork and entrepreneurship, focusing on:

Collaboration: Encouraging efficient teamwork, similar to a startup environment.

Adaptability: Developing the ability to adjust strategies based on changing situations, a key entrepreneurial trait.

Active Listening: Emphasizing the importance of accurate message reception to prevent misunderstandings.

Encouragement and Motivation: Promoting a supportive environment to achieve common goals.

The E-Cell lecture proved to be an engaging and insightful experience, equipping participants with essential entrepreneurial skills. It emphasized the significance of teamwork, leadership, communication, and problem-solving, all of which are critical in the business world. Such sessions bridge the gap between theoretical learning and real-world applications, preparing individuals for future challenges in professional and entrepreneurial ventures.
