Community Awareness Program by NDRF India

  • formats

On October 23, 2024, final-year civil engineering students participated in a Community Awareness Program organized by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) India, aimed at educating them on disaster management and emergency response.

The event commenced with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by a presentation by Mr. Pramod Rao from NDRF India. He discussed various types of disasters—both natural and man-made—emphasizing the importance of preparedness and outlining effective extinguishing techniques. Next, the session covered safety and first aid, including how to perform CPR and respond to choking emergencies. Resource personnel conducted demonstrations of these life-saving techniques. Students then engaged in a practical session, allowing them to practice the skills they had learned. Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar accompanied the students throughout the event.
