DBCE Celebrates Goa’s 64th Liberation Day
Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, marked Goa’s 64th Liberation Day on December 19, 2024, with fervour and patriotism. The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by Mr. Clifford Britto, Sports Officer, accompanied by the resonant singing of the National Anthem.
The dignitaries for the event included Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz (Director), Fr. Leo Pereira (Administrator), Dr. Neena Panandikar (Principal), Dr. Kala Naik (Registrar), and Mr. Thejus Joseph (COO of FIIRE). Each dignitary was warmly greeted with a flower. The Principal, Dr. Neena Panandikar, delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the event. Highlighting Goa’s rich heritage, DBCE students and faculty members delivered a soulful performance through a heartfelt song that depicted Goa’s current state, inspiring unity and a collective resolve to heal the land and rise as one.
The Director, Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, addressed the gathering with an insightful speech, narrating the journey of Goa’s Liberation Day and emphasizing the contributions we, as members of Goa, should make towards its progress and unity. The General Secretary, Mr. Sherwin Lourenco, expressed gratitude in a well-received vote of thanks. The event concluded with Leading NCC Cadet Mr. Tabrez Khan, issuing final dispersal orders.
The gathering, skilfully hosted by Mr. Sydney Dourado and meticulously coordinated by Prof. Yeshudas Muttu, showcased a harmonious blend of patriotism and cultural richness.
