DBCE Celebrates Jal Diwas
Jal Diwas was celebrated on 22nd July 2019 by the students of Don Bosco College of engineering by conducting various activities which aimed at creating awareness on the importance of water conservation in the institute. This event was supported by AICTE across all technical colleges in India. The first activity conducted was a lecture on success stories of various individuals who have helped the society by successfully implementing various methods of water conservation in the country. Next, every class in the college was visited by a group of students which aimed at creating awareness on water conservation. The group explained to the students the importance of water conservation, its urgent need and how every individual could contribute towards it. Finally, a small activity was carried out in which the students placed an empty water tank at the exit of the college. All the students when they were exiting the college were requested to empty the water left from the personal water bottles in this tank to prevent wastage. This water was then used to water the surrounding plants. This program helped at creating awareness among the students about the need for water conservation to provide a sustainable living for the future generations as our earth’s natural resources are depleting at an alarming rate.
