Empowering Innovators: DBCE Startup Policy Launched to Propel Entrepreneurship
On 18th September 2024, Don Bosco College of Engineering inaugurated its much-anticipated Startup Policy in a landmark event graced by several esteemed dignitaries. The policy was officially released in the hands of Mr. Pranay Prabhu Gaonkar, Founding Partner at Menezes Gaonkar LLP. The event was further enriched by the presence of Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, DBCE; Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal, DBCE; Dr. Gaurang Patkar, NISP Coordinator; Mr. Nevil Soares, Deputy Registrar; and Mr. Thejus Joseph, COO of FiiRE.
The DBCE Startup Policy is aligned with the ‘National Innovation and Startup Policy 2019’ (NISP) launched by the Ministry of Education. This forward-looking initiative represents a monumental step towards nurturing a dynamic ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship within the college campus.
By adopting this policy, DBCE seeks to provide a framework that encourages students, faculty, and aspiring entrepreneurs to explore innovative ideas, translate them into viable ventures, and contribute to the broader socio-economic development. The policy is designed to support budding entrepreneurs by offering them resources, mentorship, and a conducive environment to bring their startup ideas to life.
Mr. Pranay Prabhu Gaonkar, while unveiling the policy, expressed optimism about the future of innovation in educational institutions like DBCE. He emphasized that such policies empower the next generation of leaders, creators, and changemakers.
