Field visit of BE Mechanical students to IMS, Bogda
Final year Mechanical Engineering students of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda visited Institute of Maritime Studies, Bogda on 10th January 2019. The students visited various laboratories and facilities guided by the Cadets of the institute.
An awareness talk on “One Year Pre – Sea Training Course in Marine Engineering” was delivered by Shri A.S. Tambwekar, Dy. Director of IMS. The talk provided an insight into the course offered by the institute. Shri A.S. Tambwekar furnished the details regarding the course fee, eligibility, duration, syllabus, career path and growth and the placement status. He also highlighted that the cadets undergo rigorous training along with medical and physical eligibility test to mold themselves into capable seafarers. He accentuated that the career in Merchant Navy is challenging yet rewarding.
The students were accompanied by Asst. Prof. Ishan Kossambe and Asst. Prof. Chetan Gaonkar.
