Field Visit to Infinyt3D

The Mechanical Engineering Department of Don Bosco College Of Engineering conducted a field visit for the students of B.E. Mechanical Engineering on the 27th Oct 2018, at Infinyt3D- Verna. The students were accompanied by Prof. Gaurish M Samant and were organized by Prof. Ajit Salunke, HOD Mechanical Engineering Department DBCE.

The students visited Infinyt3D which is the first 3D printing company in Goa. The students were introduced to the various methods of 3D printing like:

FDM: Molten plastic moulded into required structures, SLS: Powdered form plastic arranged layer by layer and heated to harden and SLA: Liquid photopolymer exposed to UV radiation for hardening. The importance of 3D printing in today’s world was discussed. The ease with which complex designs and prototypes were manufactured via 3D printing was explained. Feature like strength and durability of the end products as well as minimum resolution capable by 3D printers was discussed by Mr Sanket Naik.
