Focusing On Career Options In The Public Sector After Graduation
On 20th October 2024, the C-CODES Council of the Computer Department at Don Bosco College of Engineering hosted an insightful talk on “Focusing on Career Options in the Public Sector after Graduation”. The session was conducted in collaboration with The Bodhi Academy, a consultancy service based in Goa, known for guiding students toward success in public sector careers.
The session began with a warm introduction by Mr. Shrinivas Inamdar, who introduced the esteemed guest speaker, Shri. Kundan Lal Parganiha. Shri. Parganiha provided a comprehensive overview of the various career opportunities available to students in the public sector, highlighting paths such as pursuing an MBA or applying for different government jobs. He emphasized the vast array of opportunities in the public sector, which offer stability and career growth, and urged students to consider these options seriously.
In his talk, Shri. Parganiha elaborated on the key competitive exams required for entry into public sector roles. He covered a range of important exams, including those for Banking, Insurance, Railways, and the prestigious UPSC exams. Each exam was explained in detail, with information on what they entail and the kind of preparation needed to excel.
The second part of the session was led by Mr. Anish Kulkarni, an experienced educator and mentor. Mr. Kulkarni provided deeper insights into the eligibility criteria and specific requirements for these public sector exams. He shared practical strategies on how students can approach these exams effectively, offering advice on study techniques, time management, and the importance of staying updated with current affairs. His focus was on breaking down the preparation process into manageable steps, making it easier for students to chart their path forward.
Throughout the session, the speakers also highlighted the long-term benefits of pursuing careers in the public sector, including job security, financial stability, and opportunities for leadership roles.
The session concluded with an engaging Q&A segment, where both speakers addressed queries from the attendees, providing clarity on various career and exam-related doubts. Shri. Parganiha and Mr. Kulkarni’s practical advice and motivational insights left the students feeling well-informed and inspired to consider public sector careers.
