GOA LIBERATION DAY CELEBRATED
Don Bosco College of Engineering celebrated the 57th anniversary of Goa’s Liberation Day on the 19th of December 2018. The staff and students gathered at 8:40 a.m. for flag hoisting at the hands of our Chief Guest Engg. Francis Anthony Fernandes. The national anthem was sung by two Third Year students; Ms. Shriya Nayak from TE ETC and Ms. Shruti Mavzo TE Civil which was followed by a beautiful patriotic song “Vande Mataram” sung by them.
Our Director Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz in his address spoke about the evils that pose a threat to the society in spite of Goa being liberated. He emphasized the need to maintain Goa green and secure its identity for generations to come. Our Director Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz then presented a bouquet of flowers to the Chief Guest as a token of our gratitude.
The chief guest in his speech spoke on all the development done in the state of Goa in the past few years. He urged the students to play an active role in Goa’s development as they are the future of Goa. Our Rector Rev. Fr. Paul D’Souza presented our Honourable Chief Guest with a memento. At the hands of the Honorable Chief Guest the Students’ Council for the year 2018-19 was installed.
Ms Sheena Mashelkar, student of First Year Computer Engineering compered the function and Mr Cyndroy Rebello, student of First Year Computer Engineering proposed the vote of thanks. The celebrations ended at 9:10 a.m.
