INAUGURAL FUNCTION OF TECHNICAL FEST- TECHNOVA 2019

TECHNOVA 2019, a two day technical fest of the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department commenced with the formal inaugural function on 17^th October 2019 at 10.00 a.m. in the college auditorium. The Chief Guest for the function was Dr. Jonathan Joshi, C.E.O. Eduvance. The occasion was graced by the presence of the Director, Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Principal, Dr. Neena Panandikar, Head of ETC Department, Dr.Varsha Turkar, TECHNOVA Coordinators, Prof. Michelle Araujo e Viegas, Prof. Melba D’Souza, DBEATS coordinators, Prof. Deron Rodrigues , Prof. D.S.Vidhya and Technova student coordinator Mr. Nixon Coutinho .

The ceremony commenced with a prayer invoking God’s blessings followed by lighting of traditional lamp by the dignitaries. TECHNOVA Coordinator Prof. Melba D’Souza gave an insight of the event that would unfold in the next two days which was followed by a teaser video of ‘TECHNOVA 2019’.

Principal, Dr. Neena Panandikar, congratulated the students of BE ETC who have been recently campus placed and appreciated the efforts of the faculty for signing MoU at the recently opened “Centre of Excellence for Employability Enhancement”.

Director, Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz in his address appreciated the efforts put in by the entire Technova team and encouraged the students to be creative, innovative and motivated them to hone their skills by participating in various such technical events.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Jonathan Joshi, highlighted the importance of technical events in a student’s life and encouraged them to ponder on what technical aspect they lag and work on their shortcomings so that they can evolve professionally and be industry ready by the time they graduate. He concluded his address by stressing on the fact, that hardwork is the only way a person can achieve success in their life.

The meritorious students of the 2015-19 batch and the former DBEATS council members were felicitated during the function.

As a token of appreciation, Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz presented a memento to the chief guest.

The inaugural function concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by the DBEATS Coordinator Mr. Deron Rodrigues.
