INSPIRUS 2k19
The Department of Computer Engineering , in association with C-CODES, of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Goa, organized for the third time, an intercollegiate event called INSPIRUS 2k19-Make it Happen. It was a national event, where students in and around Goa attended and participated in various technical events held on 19th and 20th September 2019.
INSPIRUS has been a very successful event running for the past 2 years with maximum participation of students from various schools, higher secondary schools and colleges. Various events such as the first ever 24 hours continuous Inspirathon (hackathon) in association with FIIRE, Rubik’s Cube, Mindspark, Scavenger Hunt, Framed, Designers’ Paradise, Speed bugging , Code It Blind, Google Sketch up were organised.
The Chief guest for the inaugural function was Shri. Michael Lobo, Hon. Minister of Science and Technology ,Waste Management and Port and Rural Development.
The event consisted of technical events along with some fun events and also two different workshops for students and faculties:
1) A Workshop On “Research in Big Data & Space Exploration” for faculties was scheduled during INSPIRUS 2K19 on 19th September 2019 from 9:30 am to 5:00 pm. The program helped faculties to gain insight in the existing field of Big Data and details of space exploration. The resource person was Dr. Vithal Tilvi, a Goan-origin NASA scientist. Topics that were covered under the workshop were: General research techniques, Interdisciplinary big data sciences, Technology for future Space Colonization etc.
2) A Lecture series for students was organised on 20th September 2019 from 9.30 am -1.30 pm on the following topics:
- UAV –Drones and FPV Multirotors by Mr.Rajdutt Kenkre, Alumini, DBCE Goa
- Basic 3D Prototyping, Mr. Akhilesh Bhise, Founder INNOVENT
- Building Information Modelling and Smart Homes by Mr.Fred Noronha, Founder SNCE
- Redefining Agriculture with Technology by Mr.Harish Usgaonkar, CTO,LETCETRA AGRITECH
The two days event ended with a valedictory function. The Chief guest Mr. Joshua Peter De Souza (MLA, Mapusa constituency & Councillor, MMC) graced the occasion.
Students of Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi emerged as the overall winners (College category) and Students of Smt. Parvatibai Chowgule College were declared as the Runner-up.
In the higher secondary category, the team from Kings Higher Secondary School, Margao were announced as the winners.
