Installation of CII IWN Student’s Chapter
The Installation Ceremony of CII-IWN (Confederation of Indian Industry – Indian Women Network) DBCE Student’s Chapter of Don Bosco College of Engineering was held on 17th October 2024. The event was graced by the presence of Chief Guest and Guest speaker Mr. Mahendra Kakule, Valuer Member, Institution of Valuers, Director Rev. Fr. Kinley D’cruz, Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar, CII IWN Chair Dr. Nimisha Saraswat, CII IWN Co-Chair Ms. Smita Patil, CII Executive officer Ms. Shraddha Divkar and CII-IWN DBCE Student’s Chapter Faculty coordinator Ms. Melba D’Souza. The event was hosted by Ms. Esther Mascarenhas.
The program commenced with a warm welcome to the dignitaries, followed by a floral tribute and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.
Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal of DBCE, delivered the welcome address, setting the tone for the day by highlighting the importance of this new chapter and its potential to enhance student engagement with industry leaders. Dr. Nimisha Saraswat, Chair of CII IWN, gave an inspiring address, sharing insights about the mission of CII IWN and the pivotal role students can play in promoting women’s leadership and development. The formal installation of the CII-IWN Student’s Chapter was then carried out, with the announcement of the newly appointed council: Rucha Sawant as the Student Chair, Aditi Vadkar as the Student Vice Chair, Zoe Zuzarth as the Student President, and Disha Talaulikar as the Student Secretary.
Following the Installation, Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director of DBCE, congratulated the institution on this milestone. He shared his thoughts on the significance of such initiatives in fostering holistic student development.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Mahendra Kakule, addressed the audience with an engaging talk focusing on financial independence for women. He emphasized the importance of equipping women with the tools and knowledge needed to achieve financial stability, and he encouraged students, especially women, to take charge of their financial futures through continuous learning and professional growth.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Smita Patil, Co-Chair of CII IWN, who expressed gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty, and students for making the event a success. The Installation of the CII-IWN DBCE Student’s Chapter is a significant milestone offering a platform for students to connect with industry experts and contribute to the ongoing dialogue on women’s empowerment and leadership.
