Knowledge Sharing Session on Mobile Phone Photography and Editing
The Department of Electronics and Telecommunication, Don Bosco College of Engineering-Fatorda-Goa, organized its monthly Knowledge Sharing Session, under the R&D cell on February 17, 2021. The Knowledge Sharing Session initiative involves activities whose main motive is to update Faculty members with the latest trends in Technology and Research and to learn something beyond academics.
The session was taken up by Mr. Roland Gomes on “Mobile Phone Photography and Editing”.
Mr. Roland Gomes started the session by introducing different types of cameras which are mainly classified based on the sensor size and viewfinder mechanism. He then explained the advantages of using mobile phone for photography which includes Portability, ease in shooting and uploading on social media, simplicity and affordability.
Mr. Gomes later explained in details with the help of examples the different compositions or rules followed during Photography which includes Rule of Third, Balance, Top view, Bottom view, Leading lines/patterns/symmetry, Perspective and Foreground/background.
Lastly, he spoke on Lights & Shadows and explained the different aspects to keep in mind before taking a picture.
At the end, a hands-on session using the Mobile photo editing app “The ADOBE LIGHTROOM”, was explored. Different features of the app and how it can be used to edit pictures was also discussed.
The event was encouraged by R&D Chair Dr. Varsha Turkar and coordinated by Prof. Flavia Leitao. The session was indeed an interesting one and was enjoyed by all faculty members and received good feedback from the audience.
