Liberation Day 2021
Don Bosco College of Engineering staff and NSS volunteers celebrated the 60th year of Goa’s Liberation on 19th December 2021 in the college campus at 8:45am. The Chief Guest for the ceremony was Mr. Deep Karapurkar, Owner of City Scape Builders. Among the dignitaries present were Director, Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Rector, Rev. Fr. Paul D’Souza and Principal, Dr. Neena Panandikar, Registrar Dr. Kala Nayak, CEO of FiiRE, D.S. Prashant and COO of Fiire, Mr. Thejus Joseph.
Sports Officer, Dr. Avertano Barreto gave the commands and at the hands of the Chief Guest, the flag was hoisted after which the National Anthem was patriotically sung by all. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz welcomed the Chief Guest with a bouquet of flowers. Dr. Neena Panandikar addressed the gathering and recited a poem on “Sobit Amche Goen” by Goan poet Ms. Pradnya Naik and then introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering and invited him to address the gathering.
In his speech, Mr. Deep Karapurkar wished everyone on account of 60th Goa liberation Day and said “The sacrifices done by the martyrs for the freedom struggle of Goa is unforgettable.” He also said ”If we want to see overall progress of Goa then, we personally have to work on individual progress.” He too recited a poem written by Shri. Bakibab Borkar after Goa liberation in 1961.
Rev. Fr. Paul D’Souza, then presented a memento to the Chief Guest. Compere, Mr. Reo D’Mello thanked the dignitaries and all the staff who helped in the smooth conduct of the event.
