Preliminary round of Big Idea Competition at DBCE organized by GCCI
On April 20, 2023, the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) organized a Big Idea Competition at Don Bosco College of Engineering (DBCE). The event was aimed at promoting innovation and entrepreneurship among the college students by encouraging them to pitch their ideas for solving real-world problems. The competition was judged by Thejus Joseph, COO of FIIRE, and Sunaya Shirodkar, Founder, Asier Solutions, a prominent businesswoman.
The event was attended by eight teams of college students who presented their ideas. Each team was given five minutes to present their idea, followed by a three-minute Q&A session with the judges. The participants were judged based on various criteria such as presentation skills, originality of the idea, clarity of thought, planning, and research.
Out of the eight teams, only two were selected for the finals. Team Neural Kisaan headed by Sai Rane & Team Standard Integrated scanner modules for manufacturing Industries headed by Nishil Hoggar were declared as winners. The judges were impressed with the quality of the presentations and the innovative ideas presented by the participants. The winning teams will receive an opportunity to pitch their ideas to potential investors.
Overall, the Big Idea Competition was a successful event that provided a platform for college students to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills. The competition not only encouraged innovation but also provided an opportunity for the participants to interact with experienced judges who provided valuable feedback on their ideas.
