Prof. Ajit Salunke & Prof. Gaurish Samant in organizing team of SCIFFI 19

The 4^th Science Film Festival of India (SCIFFI 19) was held from 16^th to 19^th January 2019 at ESG, Panjim.  The festival was inaugurated by Dr. Nakul Parashar, Chairman, Vigyan Prasar. SCIFFI 19 had 3 themes; Future of Oceans, Technology & Innovation and Basic Sciences.

Prof Ajit Salunke, HOD – Mechanical Department was the Convener for the Technology & Innovation theme and Prof Gaurish M Samant, Assistant Professor was the Co- Convener. Shri Jayant Sahasrabudhe, Secretaty Vijnana  Bharati inaugurated the event. He said that continuous innovation will lead the country to became a super power in the world. Mr Abhay Bhaimaikar, Secretary SCIFFI 19, Dr Govind Kuncolienkar Head of Department Electrical Engineering, GEC were also present.

14 Speakers from various institutes like BITS-Pilani Goa, Don Bosco College of Engineering, University of Hyderabad, Goa Engineering College, Padre Conceicao College of Enginerring- Goa delivered talks and presented movies on various topics like Astronomy, Spacecrafts, Robotics, Bullet Trains, 3 D Printing, Biomedical, Automotive Engines etc. In all ,70 Secondary & Higher school and Engineering students participated.

The film festival concluded with the valedictory function which was graced by chief guest- Dr. R Chidambaram, Eminent Scientist.
