Prototype Validation – Converting Prototype into a Start-up
The Institution Innovation Council Of Don Bosco College of Engineering in association with FiiRE presented a webinar on “Prototype Validation – Converting Prototype into a Start-up”, held in online mode to enlighten the students on the topic. The webinar was held on the June 12, 2021 on google meet platform. The resource person invited to deliver the talk was Mr. Aaron de Miranda Colaço, who is the founder and currently Head of Blockchain at qiibee. The audience comprised students of second year, third year and final year of Don Bosco College of Engineering. Principal- Dr Neena Panandikar, IIC DBCE President- Dr Varsha Turkar, IIC and other faculty members were also present.
Mr. Aaron started off by defining what a start up is and what should be the idea behind any start up, in the bargain clearing a few misconceptions that aspirants usually have. The critical components he mentioned were design thinking and prototyping. Prototyping being the highlight of the talk. He said “ Building a prototype is most important when a product is proposed to be built from scratch or something that is novel and ground-breaking. Also, most of the time an idea is better shown than spoken about.” Mr. Aaron introduced various tools that are available today for prototyping.
Mr. Aaron also stressed that a product when launched should reach masses and not just cater to a few, this would help in attaining maximum profitability and success in the long run.
In conclusion, Mr. Aaron gave some useful tips and advice on how aspirants should start thinking in this direction and start building. The event was very well received by all and students very thrilled to learn about the entire process. This definitely will leave them motivated to explore more of having their own start-ups.
