R&D Knowledge Sharing Session on “Staircase towards an effective research paper writing” and “The 3 W’s of research”
The Department of Computer Engineering, Don Bosco College of Engineering-Fatorda-Goa, organized its monthly Knowledge Sharing Session, under the R&D cell on June 22nd , 2021. The Knowledge Sharing Session initiative involves activities whose main motive is to update Faculty members with the latest trends in Technology and Research and to learn something beyond academics.
The session was taken up by Prof. Nisha Godinho on “Staircase towards an effective research paper writing” and Prof. Norman Dias on “The 3 W’s of research” through the Google Meet platform.
Prof. Nisha Godinho started the session by explaining the research paper overview. She then explained the standard structure of the research paper (IMRD) which is followed by most of the reputed journals. Also gave detailed explanation on every section to be included in the paper. Finally, she gave some important tips to be considered while writing the various sections of the research paper.
Prof. Norman Dias gave a brief introduction to different types of research papers, guidelines on submission of research paper to a conference /Journal, indexing of Journal, Impact factor, cite score. Steps to identify fake /cloned Journals, he also spoke on different types of Plagiarism, and gave a demo on the use of Mendeley software.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Gaurang Patkar and Dr. Vivek Jog. The session was indeed an interesting one and was enjoyed by all faculty members and received good feedback from the audience.
