AICTE-Leadership-Talk

In tune with the MHRD, Innovation Cell, organised its fourth episode on India Talk Series in India on 22nd April 2019 and was led by Dr. Abhay Jere, the CEO, MIC and Prof. Anil Sahasrabudha who was the chairman of AICTE and the guest speaker of that day. The episode was screened live for the students at Don Bosco College of Engineering seminar hall from 12pm to 1pm. The questions were raised in view to what the students felt about the education system in India. It was with respect to the infrastructure, curriculum, training to the teachers with the emerging technologies and lastly on start-up’s and entrepreneurships.

Prof. Sahasrabudha emphasised on the fact that there needs to be hands on session, soft skills to the students and AICTE is working towards it by considering the curriculum of the NIT’s and IIT’s to be its model curriculum. Through UNAT Bharat Abhiyan programme the students can go and find problems faced by the society and provide solutions through the emerging technologies. Students participation in internships will intervene them with the industry, sensitize them and will enable them to create a better place to live in.

There has to be strong support systems among institutions to be a part of the incubation centre so that the students can invest their ideas. There also should arise the need for mentorship programs, entrepreneurships, training and space for the expression of ideas, as highlighted by Prof Sahasrabudha in his talk. He also said that India takes the 57th rank for innovation and stands third largest in the world for entrepreneurship.

He also said that the AICTE also started its Masters course in Start-ups and Entrepreneurs in the year 2019 having its syllabus formed with the stake holders so that the students can stand on their own feet. In addition, Prof. Sahasrabudha said that students can be a part of the ATAL Thinking Lab and work for the development of the society. He also pointed out that 95 percent of the students choose to stay in India thus adding to rapid progress of the nation.

Prof. Sahasrabudha believes that SELF- LEARNING and LIFE- LONG LEARNING (through Swayam) along with INTEGRITY is very important along with HARDWORK and PASSION with PERSEVEARANCE; and were his message to all the listeners of the day.
