Report on one day International Knowledge Summit (India-Bhutan)
The Department of Computer Engineering of Don Bosco College of Engineering organised a One day Knowledge Summit in association with Sherubtse College Royal University of Bhutan on September 11, 2020 using an online Platform.
The seminar was attended by 72 participants from various disciplines of engineering, both faculty and industry representatives from India and Bhutan. The seminar focussed on promoting innovation and growth through sustainable engineering development. Seminar was graced by Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Mr.Tshering Wangdi, President, Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan, Mr Dendup Tshering, Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages along with Dr. Gaurang Patkar, HOD Computer Engineering department.

brief description about the sacrifices and contribution of Founder Father of Salesian’s Society, John Melchior Bosco popularly known as Don Bosco Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz followed by Brief introduction of Sherubtse College, Royal University of Bhutan by Mr.Tshering Wangdi. The highlights and achievements of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Goa were presented by Dr Neena Panandikar and Mr Dendup Tshering shared some of the milestones achieved by Sherbtse College, Bhutan.
First speaker for the day was Mr. Siddharth D. Kamat, Joint General Manager at NCC Limited, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, who delivered a session on sustainable growth in engineering. He gave a session on the challenges in sustainable growth in construction engineering.
Mr. Siddharth Kamat in his presentation brought to light some of the problems that are getting in the way of life due to rapid industrialization and its impact on mother nature.
Second speaker was Mr. Tashi Chophel, program lead of political science, Royal University of Bhutan. He gave an indepth view on Gross National Happiness (GNH) and education system in Bhutan. He narrated that GNH was inducted in 1972 by 4th King in Bhutan to promote conditions that would bring gross happiness to all individuals in reality.
Event was coordinated by Asst. Prof Mithil Parab, Asst. Prof Amey Tilve and Asst. Prof Jhanvi Naik and was well received as well as appreciated by all participants.
