Report on PoSH Act

The Internal committee of Don Bosco college of Engineering conducted a session on PoSH – Prevention of Sexual Harassment (PoSH) at Workplace Act of India for the First Year Engineering students as well as for faculty of the college on 24^th July 2024. The speaker for the event was Adv. Emidio Pinho from SCAN, Goa. Adv. Pinho has a Master’s degree in Law and has been working with survivors of abuse since 2005. He spoke about the Act in detail, which is a legislation enacted by the Government of India in 2013 to address the issue of sexual harassment faced by women in the workplace. The Act aims to create a safe and conducive work environment for women and provide protection against sexual harassment. The speaker illustrated the need for the Act through different audio visuals. The session ended with questions posed to the speaker on the various aspects of the Act.
