SE ETC’s Field Visit Report

A field trip was arranged for the students of second year ETC on 23^rd March 2018.The two places  visited were as follows: NIO Goa and Letcetra Agriculture Turnkey Solutions, Karaswada,Mapusa Goa. The  students were accompanied by Prof. Michelle Araujo and Prof. Trima Fernandes e  Fizardo.

The day commenced with a visit at NIO. An oceanographic short movie ‘SAGAR’ was screened for the students in the auditorium. This was truly a great experience for the students to learn deeply about oceans across the globe, their compositions, uses, effects and the life it supports. After a  short lunch break the students visited   Letcetra Agritech at Karaswada, Mapusa. Here the students got to learn how plants like lettuce, strawberries and spinach are grown under artificial environment. The system was  created  such that the room was bright and lighted with tube lights.  To help the plants in the process of photosynthesis, the room was under temperature control too. We were surprised to know that these plants had a great demand in the market because they used no harmful chemicals but purely grown with natural organic matter. It was a great experience for all the students to learn something new, a chance to interact with the surroundings minutely and intently.
