Talk on “GIS – Geographic Information System”
The Civil Engineering Department of Don Bosco College of Engineering conducted a talk on “GIS – Geographic Information System” on 04th May, 2018 in the SE CIVIL classroom. This talk was conducted as a part of academic enhancement primarily for Second year students.
GIS expert, Mr. Ramrao Wagh, was invited to deliver the talk. Assistant Professor Satyesh Kakodkar welcomed the speaker.
Mr. Ramrao Wagh threw light on the basic concepts of GIS like components, variables, layers, functionality of GIS, areas of GIS application, advantages and limitations of GIS, Spatial and attribute data, data structures, raster and vector data, GIS software and buffering.
The talk ended with a thanksgiving note by Assistant Prof. Satyesh Kakodkar.
