Talk on “Smart Manufacturing”
Mr. Joel Colaco, Automation Support Engineer, Turbocam India Pvt. Ltd. and alumnus of the Mechanical Engineering department of DBCE delivered a talk on “Smart Manufacturing” on 4/10/23 for 2nd and 3rd year mechanical engineering students. He spoke about the fundamentals of “Industry 4.0” and techniques to implement the same. He also briefed about the various phases of the implementation and the challenges faced.
Mr. Joel discussed the real-time case study of automating a robot cell in Turbocam and the associated smart technologies. He explained how data is captured and presented through the cloud across the organization. He also gave a glimpse of big data analytics.
The talk was organized by Prof. Ajit Salunke. Dr. Suraj Marathe, Officiating HOD, and Prof. Sachin Turi attended the session. Dr. Suraj presented a memento to Joel.
