TE ECS STUDENTS ORIENTATION 2024
The Department of Electronics and Computer Science of our college hosted an Orientation Programme on July 9, 2024, specifically tailored for third-year students. The primary objective was to acquaint students with essential aspects of their academic progression and career prospects.
The programme commenced with Prof. Mohini Naik, the class teacher, extending a warm welcome and introducing students to the curriculum’s various courses. Prof. Naik emphasized the importance of attendance, semester exams, and internal tests.
Dr. D.S. Vidhya, Head of Department for Electronics and Computer Science, followed with a discussion on academic discipline and provided detailed insights into exam procedures, CGPA calculations, and the relevance of NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning). She encouraged students to participate in workshops and online courses to broaden their knowledge beyond the prescribed syllabus.
Dr. Shreyas Simu then addressed the topic of placement, highlighting the critical components such as aptitude tests, technical assessment, resume building, and communication skills necessary for a successful career placement. Dr. Simu emphasized the importance of skill development in these areas to enhance employability.
Prof. Anisha Cotta concluded the programme by discussing various project opportunities and research areas available to the students. Her session aimed to inspire students to explore diverse projects and research topics that align with their interests and career aspirations.
The Orientation Programme provided students with comprehensive guidance on academic requirements, career pathways, and resources available to support their educational journey.
