Teacher’s Day Celebration
DBCE celebrated Teacher’s Day on September 5, 2024, with a delightful Fall-themed party titled “A Season of Thanks.” The festivities began with a warm welcome from the First-Year comperes and a meaningful prayer service themed “Illuminating Minds, Igniting Hearts.” This included prayer songs and thoughtful intercessions for the students, teachers, teaching equipment, teaching spaces, and the management.
The event continued with an energetic jam session by the second-year band, followed by an inspiring address from Rev. Fr. Ralin D’souza. He shared insights into Don Bosco’s life and his transformative approach to youth education. Principal Dr. Neena Panandikar also addressed the staff with heartfelt greetings, leading to a celebratory cake-cutting.
The teachers enjoyed a lively march-in entrance with live music, participated in group games, a delightful magic show, and were recognized with spot prizes and “The Golden Chalk Awards,” which featured fun, student-voted titles. Rev. Fr. Kinley D’cruz expressed gratitude through reflective quotes on the significance of teachers.
A special moment of recognition occurred as the teaching and non-teaching staff who had completed 10 years of service were honored with mementos. Dr. Pravin Verekar, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Department, was also acknowledged for his dedicated service as he neared retirement.
The celebration concluded with takeaways for the staff from the management, group photos, and a pleasant lunch, bringing the day to a fulfilling close.
