Two-Day Drone Basics Workshop by Garuda Aerospace

Don Bosco College of Engineering in collaboration with Garuda Aerospace Private Ltd, conducted a Two-day workshop on Drone Basics which was  a comprehensive event aimed at providing participants with foundational knowledge and hands-on experience in drone technology on 20^th and 21^st September 2024.  The workshop featured sessions on various aspects of drones, including their history, types, regulations, and practical applications.

The Inaugural welcome address was given by Dr. Shreyas Simu. It was graced by Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal and Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director.  Mr. Sanjeel Naik, Asst Professor Dept of Mechanical Engineering introduced the speakers to the audience.

Dr. Maruthi Prasad Yadav, Head of Garuda Academy and one of the resource persons, introduced the Company and highlighted the Evolution of Drone Technology, its key milestones in Drone Development; Impact of Drones on various Industries and the Types of Drones; Principles of Rotorcraft Flight; Design and Functionality of Rotorcraft Use Cases in various sectors.

Mr. Hiran Gabriel DJ, Manager R&D, Garuda Aerospace gave sessions on Classification of Drones (fixed-wing, rotary-wing, hybrid); Applications of different Drone types; Comparative Analysis of Drone Capabilities.

Sessions on Drone Entrepreneurship, Drone License were also conducted. The Workshop concluded with Demonstration of real-time flying of drones, along with a feedback session where participants shared their experiences and insights gained over the two days. The event gave a detailed and practical approach, providing attendees with valuable knowledge and skills in drone technology. The Workshop was conducted as a part of the MOU signed by Don Bosco College of Engineering and Garuda Aerospace Pvt Ltd, and was coordinated by Dr Shreyas Simu and Asst. Professor Sanjeel Naik.
