Two day Workshop on “Basics of Electrical”

A Two day workshop on “Basics of Electrical” was organized by the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of Don Bosco College of Engineering on December 15 & 17, 2021. The workshop was attended by 24 industry professionals from Chowgule and Company -Shipbuilding Division.

The first session on day 1 commenced with the session by Mr. Joseph Dias who gave a brief insight on “Electrical Safety at workplace”.  The following sessions of the day were practical sessions in which the participants were divided into 3 batches. The practical sessions were engaged by Mr. Joseph Dias, Mr. Roland Gomes, Mr. Jaiprakash Fadte. These sessions were a hands on experience of Electrical Wiring, usage of Multimeter, protective devices etc. The second day of the workshop commenced with a session on “Sensors” by Mr. Joseph Dias. He explained the various sensors used in Industry.  This was followed by a practical session in which Mr. Joseph Dias, Mr. Roland Gomes, Mr. Jaiprakash Fadte covered the following topics: Generation of Electricity, choice of motors, Electrical Maintenance etc. For the last session an exam was conducted for the participants and feedback was taken. A very positive feedback was given by the participants. The course coordinator was Ms. Kimberly Morais.
