Webinar on Condition Monitoring of Machines (Part – I)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering held its second webinar in Audit Course in Maintenance Engineering for the academic year 2020-2021, on April 30. The session was delivered by Mr. Suryakant Gawde, senior consultant, Condition Monitoring and Maintenance on Condition Monitoring of Machines.
The webinar was hosted via Google meet. 70 participants from the Third year Mechanical Engineering students and Faculties from Mechanical Department attended the webinar. The event was hosted and coordinated by Prof. Swapnil Ramani and Prof. Mayur Shetti. The event was initiated by Prof. Swapnil Ramani who welcomed the participants and gave a brief introduction about the resource person.
Mr. Suryakant spoke about different roots of vibration. He pointed to the students the relevance of vibration in design and maintenance of rotating machines in industry. He spoke about various tools and machines used in testing the vibration level in rotating machines. He spoke about Mean time between failure. He kept the entire session very interactive and answered all questions as and when the came up. The students gained valuable knowledge in this area of engineering.
