Webinar on ‘How to plan for Start-up and Legal Ethical Steps’
A session on ‘How to plan for Start-up and Legal Ethical Steps’ was organised by Institution Innovation Council of Don Bosco College of Engineering (IIC-DBCE) on July 13, 2022, on Google meet platform. The resource person for the session was Mr. Michael Viegas- Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant.
The session commenced with Mrs. Michelle Araujo e Viegas, Faculty Coordinator of the event introducing the speaker and welcoming him. Mr. Michael Viegas began the session by defining what is a Start-up, the main aim of having start-ups.
He spoke about the planning, legal and ethical steps involved in setting up a start-up. In the planning phase he explained the need of checking if the idea is novel, if it has relevance to today’s time and the impact it is going to have on society. He also stressed that patience is the key to success and we should not assume failure as the end of anything.
He further explained the steps involved to fructify the idea. He also stressed on the need to protect the idea in the form of patents, trademarks, copyright, geographical indications and industrial designs and aesthetics and also spoke on the benefits the owner gets by protecting their idea. Later on he explained the legalities involved in a start-up and the various ethical steps involved. He concluded his session by speaking about the duties as start-ups, the benefits that a start-up gets and emphasised that hardwork is the key to a start-up success.
With a participation of around 40 students, the session ended by a vote of thanks delivered by Mrs.Michelle Araujo e Viegas faculty coordinator of the event.
