WORKSHOP ON “Financial Literacy Exclusively for Women Entrepreneurs”
Students of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, Ms. Aditi Lawande and Ms. Nandisha Pednekar from BE Civil, Ms. Danira Vaz and Ms. Subrata Rai from TE Civil, Ms. Jaitali Kunkalkar, Ms. Urviya Taker from FE ETC and Ms. Lamiha Sayad from FE Mech II attended a workshop conducted by the Women’s Wing of Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) in association with the Lion’s club of Arlem Margao on “Financial literacy exclusively for Women Entrepreneurs” on Thursday, 27th September, 2018 at 3.30 pm at Lions Bhavan, Margao, Goa.
Mrs. Jennifer Naik , member of GCCI , welcomed the guest speakers with a floral bouquet and introduced them to the audience. Ms. Garima Vasudeva, Company Secretary, started off the workshop by briefing on the different corporations. She explained how companies run, what permissions need to be taken to start a company or a sole proprietorship. She also spoke about the legal procedures to be taken care of. It was very helpful and set a foundation for young aspiring entrepreneurs.
In addition to this, Ms. Shweta Rane , Chartered Accountant, addressed the participants on the financial aspect of the business. She gave a brief introduction on how finance plays a very important role in setting up a business. She explained certain legal terms and gave an understanding on credit, debits and loans. The workshop ended at 6:15 pm with an entertaining question- answer round.
