Workshop on “Introduction to Web Technologies: HTML”

C-Codes Student Association along with the Computer Department organized a workshop on “Introduction to Web Technologies: HTML”. It was conducted on 12 January 2019, for second year computer engineering students.60 students attended the workshop. The resource person for the workshop was Prof. Vivek Jog. The coordinator for the workshop was Prof. Merwyn D’Souza.

It was conducted in two sessions, morning and afternoon. In the morning session the students were introduced to software development, the various fields associated with it, terms used in web development etc. The students were further briefed into the technologies to be learnt in order to venture into web development like HTML 5, CSS 3, JavaScript, MySQL, bootstrapping etc.

The basic HTML tags, typical structure to design a webpage, tags like download button, to integrate audio or video api’s, to create lists, radio button, drop down, check box, etc., to incorporate legends and tables were demonstrated to students through examples.

The afternoon session involved students in a hands-on to what they had learnt in the previous session. The students were asked to create webpages for a specific purpose like a page to play or download music and videos and view or download images.
