Seminar on “Cyber Crime & Cyber Law- Cyber Security in India” by Goa Police Cyber Crime Branch

The Fire & Security Association of India (FSAI), DBCE Chapter in association with FSAI Goa Chapter organized a seminar on “Cyber Crime & Cyber Law- Cyber Security in India” on 30th September 2023 for second and third-year Mechanical Engineering students of Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda.  

The resource person was Vidyanand Pawar, Police Inspector from the Cybercrime Police Station, Ribandar. Mr. Pawar elaborated on various types of cybercrimes and cyber-attacks like phishing, spamming, skimming, etc. He also discussed some case studies of cybercrimes that occurred in the state of Goa. He spoke on sections in law and punishments for people committing cybercrimes.  He also gave tips on how to prevent becoming a victim of cybercrime. At the end of the session, Mr. Pawar demonstrated how cybercriminals use spyware to access victim’s devices.  

Mr. Ashok Menon, FSAI National Secretary, and Mr. Anand Ramkrishnan, Secretary, FSAI Goa Chapter graced the occasion with their presence. The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Ganesh Hegde, President, FSAI Goa Chapter along with Prof. Ajit Salunke, Faculty Advisor, and Prof. Aniket Naik, Faculty Coordinator of FSAI DBCE Chapter.
