Report of Café Session

Café Session was conducted by the Department of Science and Humanities, Don Bosco College of Engineering on September 11, 2023. Ms. Carol Cardozo -Assistant Professor, Don Bosco College of Engineering was the resource person who delivered a session on topic “SWOC .

She initially introduced SWOC as Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Challenges. She went on the add that analysis is a strategic planning tool used to make effective decisions by businesses. Ms. Cardozo reiterated that one can practise the same if they would want to maximize profits or simply wish to better themselves. Categorization of different aspects was discussed during the session. Points to be made under each category were given examples of by taking into consideration companies like Apple, Coca-Cola and Google. 

In her session she has also explained that SWOC can also be used as a personality assessment tool. With honest self-reflection one can recognize their strengths to take advantage of opportunities, and a weakness can be eliminated so that it does not worsen a challenge. Questions for such self-reflection were provided. The session was interesting and useful.
