Career Awareness Programme
Don Bosco College of Engineering hosted the Catenians, Margao Circle for a Campus Awareness Programme organized for Class XI, Class XII and Engineering students on Tuesday, 07 November 2023 in the Auditorium. The programme was attended by students from Fr. Agnel Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Carmel Higher Secondary School, Damodar College of Commerce and Economics, Padre Conceicao College of Engineering, and Don Bosco College of Engineering.
Rev. Fr. Kinley D’Cruz was the Chief Guest for the programme. Col. John D’Souza, President of the Catenians, Margao Circle welcomed the audience and highlighted the need for creating awareness on career prospects in defense sector, civil services, and in general. The other dignitaries who were present were Dr. Neena Panandikar, Principal, DBCE, Dr. Francis Coelho, Joseph D’Costa, Victor Rebello, Albencio Pinto, and Capt. Edwin Sequeira.
The first session was conducted by Major General Christopher Fernandes. He spoke on the various career opportunities in the Army. He highlighted the commitment and valor that is imbibed during the training in the defense sector. The next session was delivered by Dr. Anthony D’Sa, Retired IAS Officer. He mentioned the various career prospects in Civil Services such as IAS, IPS, IFS, etc. He said, “Reading newspapers is an important habit one needs to inculcate, and it should be a life-long habit”. The last session was given by Mr. Blaise Costabir, MD, GMI Zarhak Moulders Pvt. Ltd. He narrated the journey of being a successful entrepreneur and put forward the goals needed to have a successful career in life.
In the address given by the chief guest Fr. Kinley D’Cruz, Director, Don Bosco College of Engineering, Fatorda, he mentioned that it is important to be the person who can make things happen with determination. The programme was coordinated by Col. John D’Souza, Catenians Margao Circle team, Avila Naik, TPO, Don Bosco College of Engineering, and DBCE team and sponsored by Bajaj Finserv and Jennifer Mendes Investments.
