Talk on “Smart Farming Technologies for the Future” at Vidnyan Dhara 2024  

Prof. Ajit Salunke, an Associate Professor in the Mechanical Department at DBCE, presented a lecture titled “Smart Farming Technologies for the Future” at Shishu Vikas High School, Margao. This lecture was part of Vidnyan Dhara 2024, an engaging science series organized by the Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Goa, with the aim of fostering scientific curiosity among young individuals.

During the presentation, Prof. Salunke introduced students to various farming technology prevalent in Agriculture 4.0. He discussed the integration of 3D Printing in the food industry and elaborated on the role of robots and drones in tasks such as ploughing, seed and fertilizer spraying, deweeding, crop protection, fruit picking, plant cutting, irrigation, surveying, and farm management. He emphasized the significance of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning and the Internet of Things (IoT) in modern agricultural practices.

Prof. Salunke also utilized videos to spark enthusiasm among the students.
